Controversies in the Antifungal Management of Candida albicans Panophthalmitis

This report is of a patient with Candida albicans panopthalmitis, probably prompted by a decompensated underlying diabetes mellitus. The clinical course was prolonged (more than 16 weeks), although favourable after treatment with antifungal agents with a predictable activity in this condition and proven susceptibility to Candida albicans.
