This report is of a patient with Candida albicans panopthalmitis, probably prompted by a decompensated underlying diabetes mellitus. The clinical course was prolonged (more than 16 weeks), although favourable after treatment with antifungal agents with a predictable activity in this condition and proven susceptibility to Candida albicans. This report will discuss the treatment of Candida albicans panophthalmitis and review the literature.
