History

SEAGIG was founded in 1997 by a group of glaucoma specialists to attempt to solve some of the problems associated with glaucoma specific to the Asian region. SEAGIG has worked closely with the Asian-Oceanic Glaucoma Society (AOGS), and continues to do so. SEAGIG scientific conferences have been held regularly since the Inaugural Scientific Meeting in Bangkok in 2000. Starting in 2005, SEAGIG and AOGS will hold annual joint scientific meetings.
